Private music lessons are a very unique kind of learning experience.

Weekly meetings with a musical mentor provide an environment that isn’t found in most other fields, with highly specialized instruction and a one-on-one educational relationship.  Having taken weekly private lessons in harp and piano for over 20 years, I've learned just how valuable that relationship can be.

Teaching has been a significant part of my career for several years. I’ve enjoyed educating students from all kinds of musical backgrounds because I know what it feels like to play music that I love, and I can take such joy in watching my students achieve that same feeling in their own playing.  My love of teaching comes from the individuality in each student's ambitions, strengths, and perspectives.

I am very lucky to have worked with some incredible teachers, and it is an honor to pass along what I’ve learned. In my own journey as a professional harpist, I’ve been especially thankful for the solid foundation of technique that my teachers prioritized in my education.  It has become something I prioritize in my own teaching because it provides a consistent approach for efficient learning, facility for playing pieces of increasingly higher difficulty, and it can even prevent injury!

Most importantly, I love playing music. Being able to share in that with people and help them grow is what means the most to me.
